After the wake of the “Great Recession" the residents of Southeast Queens found themselves among the five boroughs of New York City at the epicenter of a crisis. The foreclosure rate was the highest of any other locale. No bank was willing to assist homeowners who were rendered homeless almost overnight. As a result, the vision for Southeast Queens was born.
